Design-for-Safety facilitation and risk register for a hyperscale data-centre fit-out.

The challenge

Hazards designed into a scheme are the most expensive to fix once construction starts — and a live, energy-dense data-centre environment leaves little tolerance for them.

Our approach

We facilitated structured Design-for-Safety workshops with the design team, building a live hazard register that eliminated or designed out risks at source before they reached the site.

The outcome

A documented DfS register accompanied the design to site, with the highest-rated hazards eliminated on paper rather than managed in the field.

Project timeline

  1. Weeks 1-3

    Design review

Hazard identification across structure, MEP and construction sequence.

  2. Weeks 4-8

    DfS workshops

Facilitated sessions to eliminate, substitute or engineer out identified risks.

  3. Weeks 9-12

    Register & handover

Residual-risk register issued to the delivery team with mitigation ownership.
