QECP-stamped Earth Control Measure plan and silt-management strategy for a large earthworks site.
The challenge
Earthworks draining to a public waterway must control silt to strict discharge standards, or face stop-work orders and penalties.
Our approach
A Qualified Erosion Control Professional led an ECM master plan — staged earthworks, silt traps, wash bays and a monitoring regime tuned to the catchment and the wet season.
The outcome
The plan was approved by the authority and the works ran without a discharge breach through monsoon conditions.
Project timeline
Weeks 1-2
Site & catchment study
Topography, drainage and discharge points assessed against rainfall data.
Weeks 3-6
ECM design
Staged earthworks, silt traps and treatment train designed and QECP-stamped.
Weeks 7-8
Approval & monitoring setup
Authority submission and a discharge-monitoring regime established.
