Restoration of a degraded wetland into a constructed treatment wetland.
The challenge
Rebuild ecological function and water treatment in a degraded wetland without importing invasive species or disturbing remaining habitat.
Our approach
We regraded planted cells, set managed water levels and re-established native macrophytes, phasing works to protect the surviving ecology.
The outcome
A functioning constructed wetland with planted cells treating inflow and habitat re-establishing across 4.5 hectares.
